A professor of ethnobotany, Amanda is Jude’s closest living friend from their days together in SFAP, and Jude’s source for naturally uber-powerful hallucinogens she personally harvests on university-funded trips to the rainforests of the world. Providing her wares from her university office, Amanda also encourages Jude’s personal use of natural hallucinogens to perform psychic surgeries on himself. When Jude encounters larger unknown spirits in his increasingly strange visions, Amanda is the one with the answers, and the difficult questions: she pushes him, pokes where it hurts, because she’s one of the few people that understands his true potential.
